TESTIMONY

One of the most important sources of happiness in my life is my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Having been born into this religion was very important to me. Maybe because my loving Heavenly Father knew that I would need a bit more guidance than others...He knows my spunkiness! As I grew up, church was just something we did each week as a family, whether we went on Sunday, Primary during the week, Family Home Evening on Monday nights, Young Women's as I became a teen, or later after I was married, I always loved being there. But in 1987, during the 4 1/2 months I spent in Texas with Henry in the burn unit after his helicopter crash, I gained a undying testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel that I had been active in all of my life. With all the heartaches and loneliness that I experienced during that time, I learned to rely on the power of prayer. The peace that came, the strength that I was given so many times and the love I felt from my Father in Heaven was amazing. That same peace has come many times since that time.

I bear witness that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World. He came to the world to teach by example and to atone for our sins. Not only does He take from us the shame and heartache we would feel from our sins but the heartache that others would cause in our lives from abuse and mistreatment. He gave His life and did come forth on that beautiful day, that we too will break the bonds of death. He now continues to live and has come back with His Father, to the young boy Joseph Smith in the spring of 1820 to restore His Gospel again to the earth.

Through the Prophet Joesph Smith, the Book of Mormon came forth by translation from ancient records and is a another witness of Christ. I have read this book of sacred scripture many times and know that it is Gods word and direction for us today. It is another witness of the teachings of the Bible.

We do have a living Prophet today. Pres. Thomas Monson continues to lead the people of the world by revelation from our Heavenly Father and we will be happiest by living the teachings and guidence that comes from ancient and latter-day prophets. I know these things to be true because of the witness I have had from the Holy Ghost, who teaches and testifies of truth. I am thankful for the blessing of having this testimony that God loves us and knows us personally. He continues to guide us through his love. These things I share by the sacred name of Jesus Christ.

Being Grateful for Good Health!

How often we take for granted the good health we enjoy each day. Maybe that's why we are allowed to get the flu or a bad cold etc..so we can realize how important feeling good really is.
Yesterday, I had the flu, big time! Throwing up, body aches, and dizziness kept me in bed all day. The only thing that helped was laying in a tub of hot water (4 times) throughout the day. A sip or two of Sprite and Coke helped a bit, until that came up too. Finally, about 9:00 last night, Henry gave me some soda crackers and a bit of Coke. I then was able to take ibuprofen, which took away the aches, and slept through the night. Today I now have a better appreciation for my good health and hopefully will be more grateful and not take it for granted. Life truly is wonderful...especially when we have good health!

GRANDCHILDREN

There is nothing that makes life more wonderful then grandchildren. I saw a T-shirt once that said, "Grandchildren are your reward for not killing your children everytime you wanted to!" Well, Henry and I have greatly been rewarded with five wonderful grandchildren. I sure love my children, but I really love my grandbabies!!!! I just want my children to know how thankful we are for their sacrifices that they make each day to bring these beautiful children into our family and for all the wonderful things they teach them!!! Let me introduce each of them! Grandchildren truly are one of the greatest blessings in this wonderful life!

This is my oldest grandson Hadley. He is Curt and Carlee's oldest.

Next came Jaxton- Matt and Tesha's oldest.

Our third grandson is Crew- Curt and Carlee's second.

Our very first grandaughter, Olivia- Matt and Tesha's second.

The Start of Something New!

For sometime now, I have wanted to have a blog...I guess mostly because I have enjoyed being able to keep up with so many peoples lives, especially those I haven't seen for so long. I have loved keeping track of my kids and my darling grandchildren when they have lived miles away and this granny just can't get enough of their cuteness!!!

Anyway, this is the beginning of something I hope will be a joy for myself and for others. It is a wonderful way to link all of us together...even for a moment of time as we journey through this great school here on earth!!!

Henry and I have learned a lot about growing old together. Our favorite saying is- "Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be!". And yes, it gets better and better all the time. Henry's sweet mother "Oma" used to say, "Getting old isn't for sissy's" and we say Amen to that! Time has done job on our bodies and the color of our hair but I can truly say that at times we wonder just where these 5 children, 2 son-in -laws, 1 daughter-in-law and 5 grandchildren came from...because we are only in our early 20's!!!!! This year we will celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. Life is truly wonderful!
